evaluation points

• evidence to support- several studies support the evo explanation of human aggression, eg competition for mates- Wilson and Daly (1985)- 690 murderers- detroit in 1972- vast majority by young men and against young men, most common reason- 'status competition', supports evo explanation that men evolved to be more aggressive in order to gain status and compete for females.
• deterministic- evo explanations of aggression- deterministic, leaves little room for free will, means people not in control of their behaviour, raises ethical issues, people are not morally responsible for aggressive behaviour as its not freely chosen.
