• frequency range of humans is 20 - 20000 hz
• microphone and oscilloscope display sound waves:

  • microphone plugged into oscilloscope = microphone transfer sound into electrical signal for oscilloscope to display
  • compare amplitudes
• higher frequency = higher pitch
• greater amplitude = louder sound
