Food Pyramid

• Food Chain - shows how organisms obtain their food
• Food Web - shows many different paths & animals are connected
• Grazing Food Chain (GFC) - flow of energy is transferred from autotrophic plants and herbivores

  Types: Predator Chain, Parasitic Chain
• Predator Chain - increases in size

  Parasitic Chain - decreases in size
• Detritus or Saprophytic Food Chain (DFC) - starts from dead organic matter
• Photosynthetic Organisms - use energy from sunlight to make sugar.

• Secondary consumers - eat primary consumer
• Tertiary Consumer - eats secondary, primary
• Apex/Quaternary consumers - eats tertiary & secondary
• Heteroph - cant make its own food
• Decomposer - breaks down dead organic material
• Energy Pyramid - goes through different trophic levels. Each trophic level decreases as it moves through an ecosystem
