  • Ribs - attached to the breastbone and protect the heart and lungs.
  • Collarbones are the bones that protrude at the base of the neck
  • shoulder blades - triangular bones located at the back near the shoulders
  • Collarbones and shoulder blades both stabilize the rib cage and they connect the shoulders to the arms
  • Kneecap - located between the Femur and Tibia
  • Hipbone - connects the backbones and the legs
  • Fibula - the slimmer bone of the leg, connected to the Tibia
  • Joint - formed when two bones connect
  • Pivot Joints - located in the head and neck. Gives a limited movement, turning right to left.

  • Ball-and-socket joints - located at the shoulders
  • Hinge joints - located at the ankles, knees, and elbows

  • Cartilage - A tissue at the end of some bones. It absorbs shock and it helps the joints move
  • Ligaments - a connective tissue at the back of your knee
  • Synovial Fluid - oil-like fluid at the end of the bones that lubricates the joints
  • Tendons - tissue that connects a muscle to the bone.
  • Femur - The largest bone in the body located at the thighs
  • Bones create blood
