  • Syntax - Referred to as the study of the principles, the process and the word order that rule the structure of sentences in a particular language.
  • Syntaxis - It means putting together and sequencing.
  • Nouns - Are names and these names may be abstract or concrete. Also it can classified in terms of quantity and forms and their word formation.
  • Pronouns - Are noun subtitles. They are used in the sentence to avoid mentioning the same noun repeatedly.
  • Verbs - Are words that denote activities, whether they are action words or words of being.
  • Adjectives - Are modifiers of nouns or pronouns. Also these are words that describe.
  • Adverbs - It modify an adjective, a verb or another adverb.
  • Preposition - It states location.
  • Conjunctions - Are connectors that link the words, phrases, or clauses.
  • Interjections - Are words or phrases that express feeling, reactions, exclamations and greetings.
  • Articles - Are words that precede a noun or noun modifier. It is the markers of the nouns.
  • The - Used to specify a particular noun.
  • A - used to generally in singular noun or a noun descriptor that begin with a consonant letter.
  • An - used in a singular noun or a noun descriptor that begins with a vowel letter.
  • Words - The basic meaningful unit of speech or writing. It is created through a single root morpheme or combination of morphemes.
  • Phrase - Is a series of words that do not constitute a complete thought.
  • Noun phrase - consists of a single modifier and noun or a series of modifiers, the head of which is the NOUN.
  • Verb Phrase - Which starts with a verb and all the cluster of words that follow. It function as a predicate of the subject.
  • Adjective phrase - Consisting of an adjective and all the cluster of words around it that modify noun and pronoun.
  • Adverbial phrase - composed of adverbs and all the clusters of words around functioning as one unit in describing a verb, adjective or adverb.
  • Prepositional phrase - starts with preposition and ends with a noun.
  • Conjunctional phrase - conducts that function of a conjunction.
  • Interjectional phrase - It functions as interjections that express emotions, greetings, and hesitations.
  • Clause - A series of words that contain a subject and adverb phrase. Classified as dependent and independent.
  • Independent clause - are clauses found in simple or compound sentences. These clauses can stand by themselves.
  • Dependent clauses - clauses that cannot stand on their own and need another clause to be complete.
  • Sentence - Made up of a word or phrase that makes a complete thought.
  • Simple sentence - Consist of a SINGLE SUBJECT and a SINGLE VERB PHRASE.
  • Complex sentence - Consists of ONE dependent and ONE independent clause that joined usually of subordinating conjunction.
  • Compound-complex sentence - Comprises ONE dependent clause and TWO independent clauses.
  • Compound sentence - Consists of TWO SUBJECTS and TWO VERBS, usually joined by coordinating conjunction.
