  • Rule 6
    Hydroxides and oxides are insoluble EXCEPT for lithium, calcium, rubidium, strontium, sodium, barium, potassium, and cesium.
  • Rule 5
    Except for rule 1, carbonates, phosphates, chromates, sulfides, and sulfates are insoluble.
  • Rule 4
    All sulfates are soluble, EXCEPT those of silver, mercury, barium, strontium, calcium, and lead.
  • Rule 3
    The halogen trio (bromide, chloride and iodide) with metals are soluble, EXCEPT those of Ag (Silver), Hg (Mercury), and Pb (Lead).
  • Rule 2
    All nitrates, acetates, chlorates, and perchlorates are soluble. (The 4 good ates)
  • Rule 1
    All common compounds of Group I and ammonium ions are soluble.
