  • Paleolithic period (roughly 2.5 million years ago to 10,000 B.C.)
early humans lived in caves or simple huts. They used basic stone and bone tools for hunting birds and wild animals.
  • Neolithic period Ancient humans transitioned from hunter/gatherer to agriculture, domesticating animals and cultivating cereal grains using hand axes, adzes, and ploughing, eventually settling in the plain.
  • Mesolithic period humans used small stone tools, now also polished and sometimes crafted with points and attached to antlers, bone or wood to serve as spears and arrows.
  • Bronze Age (about 3,000 B.C. to 1,300 B.C.) metalworking advances were made, as bronze,a copper and tin alloy, was discovered. Now used for weapons and tools for animal Domestication, the harder metal replaced its stone predecessors, and helped spark innovations including the ox-drawn plow and the wheel
  • Iron age ( 1,300 to 900 B.C.).At the time, the metal was seen as more precious than gold, and wrought iron (which would be replaced by steel with the advent of smelting iron) was easier to manufacture than bronze.
  • The Stone Age is the earliest period of human history, lasting from about 2 million years ago to around 3000 BCE.
  • the ANCIENT TIMES is divided into 3 periods:
    1. Stone Age
    2. Bronze Age
    3. Iron Age
  • The PALEOETHNIC PERIOD is characterized by the use of primitive tools such as stones, bones, shells, etc., which are called "stone tools." The people during this era lived on hunting, fishing, gathering wild fruits, nuts, berries, roots, tubers, and other edible plants.
  • The MESOLITHIC PERIOD is characterized by the development of better tools like knives, scrapers, arrowheads, and bows and arrows. People began to domesticate some animals and grow crops. They built houses out of mud, grass, leaves, and branches. This period lasted until about 4500 BC.
  • THE NEOLITHIC PERIOD is characterized by the invention of pottery, weaving, spinning, and basketry. People learned how to make fire without friction. They started building permanent settlements and farming their own food. They developed writing systems and invented musical instruments.
  • THE NEOLITHIC PERIOD is characterized by the use of advanced tools like sickles, hoes, spades, and pottery. During this era, people began cultivating crops like wheat, barley, rice, millet, and corn. They also domesticated animals like cows, horses, camels, donkeys, and chickens.
  • Paleolithic another called as old stone age
  • Mesolithic another called as Middle Stone Age
  •  Neolithic another called as New Stone Age
