  • Because the peacemakers couldn't agree on a final figure, the Treaty of Versailles said that a special commission would have two years to decide the amount that Germany should pay
  • Lloyd George and Clemenceau supported Wilson's aim of creating a League of Nations to settle disputes and stop conflicts, however there was a disagreement over how much power it should have. Clemenceau wanted a strong League with an army but Britain and USA didn't want to send soldiers into fights that didn't involve them. In the end, it didn't have its own army
