Problems with using animals in experiments

• They are brain differences between humans and animals generalisation is difficult
• Ethically the rights of animals must be acknowledged
• It is not certain that animal learning is the same as human learning
• There could be factors involved other than the stimulus-response situation set up by the experimenter
• Animals don't have the same emotional responses as animals which might affect generalisation of findings to humans
• Animals are different from each other and respond differently to different stimuli
