LAS 6 - Deborah's Story

• Deborah’s role as a judge of Israel was a sign of God’s comforting presence in the midst of the oppressed and downtrodden people of Israel.
• She was called by God to command Barak, the commander of Israel’s army to gather a small army at Mt. Tabor and pursued Sisera’s men
• Deborah said to Barak, “Be off, for this day the Lord has delivered Sisera into your power. The Lord marches before you.”
• Sisera fled on foot to a tent of Jael, was later killed Sisera while asleep.
• Deborah is also known as "mother in Israel"
• Deborah, whose integrity, strength and leadership earned for her the title of a faithful woman of God
