  • The Israelites began to worship other gods that gave the Midianites the chance to invade their land.
  • God called Gideon through an angel.
  • Gideon assembled an army of a thousand Israelites but God told him that he needed only three hundred men.
  • They did not use swords or shields but trumpets, torches and pots.
  • At a given signal, they blew their trumpets and broke the pots
  • The Midianites awoke in total confusion and panic. They began
    fighting and killing one another and fled to different directions.
  • Gideon was called the “brave and mighty man of God.” Gideon’s example reminded the people of their duty to worship God alone.
  • Gideon and his men knew that God had won for them another miraculous victory. This proves that God’s ways are very different from our ways.
