LAS 9 - Samuel's Story

• Samuel was the first prophet and the last judge of Israel.
• Samuel's Mother, Hannah wanted a son
• Hannah prayed for a son at a temple, and a priest named Eli overheard her prayers
• Eli confronted her saying "Stop getting drunk! Throw away your wine!
• Hannah replied saying "No, master, I have not drunk any wine or beer. I am a woman who is deeply troubled.
• Then Eli answered, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition that you have made to him.” She belived Eli and went back home.
• Hannah had a son named Samuel
• Hannah gave Samuel to Eli, then Samuel grew up to love God
• Samuel fell asleep, "Samuel!" God called, Samuel got up and said, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.”
