vaccination

Cards (2)

  • How do animals respond to vaccination?
    • Lymphocytes produce antibodies against the antigen.
    • The antibodies are specific to the antigens.
    • the specific antibodies bind to the antigen.
    • If the animal is infected it will quickly produce antibodies as they already have antibodies as memory cells.
    • So they will recover from the antigen faster.
  • How does vaccination prevent food poisoning in humans?
    • Fewer (salmonella) antigens would be consumed/eaten.
    • So the number of bacteria doesn't become high enough to develop an infection.
    • So fewer toxins produced (reduced symptoms of food poisoning) would be shown in humans.
