Analysis and problem identification

Cards (4)

  • Missing components and problem list:
    • Recall desired components
    • Identify present components
    • Identify missing components
    • Note additional things that are there
    • Hypothesise why components may be missing
    • Test to confirm what factors are involved
    • e.g. Sensorimotor, balance, psychological
    • Observation: Feet too far forward
    • Missing component: Flexion momentum
    • Test (hypothesis): Ankle ROM, Knee ROM, hams strength, sensation foot, proprioception of knee and ankle
    • Rehab strategy: Stretching, strengthening – be specific, practice within task
    • Observation: Insufficient hip flexion
    • Missing component: Flexion momentum
    • Test (hypothesis): Hip ROM, hip flexion strength, fear
    • Rehab strategy: Stretching, strengthening – be specific, practice within task, change environment to increase confidence
    • Observation: No arc – using knee extension ++
    • Missing component: Transition
    • Test (hypothesis): not enough flexion momentum, knee/hip extensor strength
    • Rehab strategy: Targeted strengthening if appropriate, full task practice
