• Cell is the smallest structural and functional unit of life. It can also replicate itself
• Microscopes are instruments used to examine objects that are too small to be seen by the naked eye.
• Cell Theory is one of the basic principles of biology, proposed by a Botanist Matthias Schleiden and a Zoologist Theodlr Schwann.
• Premises of Cell Theory

  1. All things are made up of one or more cells.
  2. Cell is the basic ynit of life.
  3. All cells came from pre-existing cells.
• Binary Fission is where two identical cells divides itself to duplicate the DNA.
• Mitosis is the process of making new body cells.
• Meiosis cell division that creates egg and sperm.
• Organelles are parts within the cells which are specialized to perform specific functions.
• Membrane bound organelles are surrounded by a membrane which controls what enters and leaves the cell.
• Non membrane bound organelles do not have a membrane hence, cannot control whatever enters or leaves the cell.
• Some animal and plant cell undergo modifications to perform specialized functions.
• Cellular modifications are re-acquired by the cell after cell divisions that helps the cell in various beneficial ways.
