    • November 1923 - Nazi party tried to seize power in Munich, the capital of the province of Bavaria.
    • Hitler was appointed head of Kampfbund which arranged NSDAP activities and other paramilitary groups in Bavaria.
    • Bavarian government announced an emergancy period and appointed Kahr as state commissioner with autocratic powers.
    • Transferred emergency powers to General von Seeckt.
    • October 1923 - Berlin ordered the army to overthrow the left wing government in Saxony and Thuringia.
    • Hitler felt uneasy and there were signs that the government under stresemann had a grasp of the situation and he knew he would lose his opportunity to take action.
    • He decided to create a situation where Kahr and General von lossow, Bavaria's military leader, would be forced to join him.
    • 8 November - Hitler interrupted Kahr's speech by announcing that a 'national revolution' had begun.
    • Hitler led Kahr, Lossow and Seiser to a small room to persuade them to join him.
    • Hitler had gone too the beer hall and said they agreed (they didn't).
    • Continue...Hitler continued with his supporters, about 3,000 of them, to the city centre.
    • Putsch was a complete fail - Hitler, Ludendorff, Bohner and the Kampfbund leaders were arrested.
