An important responsibility of employees is reporting illness, particularly if skin infections, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea are involved. An employee should let their employer know as soon as possible if they display any of these symptoms.
An employee should not come back to work until 48 hours after the last symptoms of vomiting or diarrhoea occurred, to prevent the spread of illness.
It is also important for employees to report health and safety or hygiene issues they witness, or when they think legislation has been breached. It is important for employees to feel safe and confident enough to report issues.
