Earths structure, plate boundaries

• The crust is the outer skin of earth, it’s solid rock that’s 10-60km thick
• Crust floats on mantle. Mantle is soft, hot rock
• Core is the centre of Earth. Hottest layer is 5,000°C
• Convection currents in the mantle cause plates to move
• Constructive plate boundary is when plates separate, it’s causes volcanoes, earthquakes and mid-ocean ridges
• Transform plate boundary is when plates slide past one another, it cause earthquakes
