Stopping Distances

• Braking Distance:

  • KE increase with speed. Faster = further to stop
  • KE increase with mass. full car = less efficiency stopping than an empty one
  • Faulty brakes have a weaker braking force
  • Icy wet roads and bald tyres = more skid
