• The Legislative branch’s most important duty is to make laws

  
• The Legislative branch comes from Article I (1) of the Constitution

  
• Both the Virginia General Assembly and the United States Congress are bicameral (having two houses)

  
• The federal level of government consists of Congress, which consists of the House of Representatives (435 members), and the Senate (100 members)

  
• The state level of government consists of the General Assembly, which consists of the House of Delegates and the Senate

  
• The local level of government consists of the Board of Supervisors or the City Council, and the School Board
