• Ischemia: hypoxia of cells or tissues caused by decreased blood flow. 
• Necrosis: cellular death
• Infarct: necrosis of cells or tissues due to ischemia.
• Gangrene is a condition occurring when saprophytic (dead tissue-loving) bacteria become involved in necrotic tissue.
