  • They met in Locarno, Switzerland, and agreed to accept the borders of the Treaty of Versailles and work together
  • The treaty was also signed by Britain, Italy, Belgium and Czechoslovakia
  • Germany had chosen to sign the Locarno Treaties unlike the Treaty of Versailles, a diktat, in 1919
  • Both France and Germany felt more secure
  • Other countries saw Germany as becoming a peaceful nation, and she was allowed to join the League in 1926
  • However, some argue the League should have been involved in this agreement and it was a missed opportunity
