tissue
they
originate
from and will have “-oma” at the
end
after the name of the
tissue.
A malignant neoplasm will have the term
carcinoma
or
sarcoma
added to tissue type.
Carcinoma: the
most
common
type
of
malignant
neoplasm
arising
from
epithelial
tissue.
Sarcoma:
malignant
neoplasm
arising
from
connective
tissue.
Lymphomas and leukemias:
malignant
neoplasm
of
blood-forming
organs
and
lymphatic
tissues.
They do not have
benign
counterparts
and are all
malignant
