  • The Upper Limb:
    • Many structural similarities with the lower limb but two main differences are:
    • Manipulation vs. locomotion
    • Flexor and extensor aspects are on opposite sides of the limb due to embryonic development and differentiation of the limb buds (knee extension and elbow extension)
  • Pectoral Girdle:
    • Consists of two clavicles and two scapulae
    • Attaches the upper limb to the trunk
    • Allows mobility and flexibility of the upper limb
