Forms of energy

• Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed from one form to another.
• Mechanical energy results from the movement or the location of an object
• Thermal energy also known as heat energy reflects the temperature difference between two systems
• Nuclear energy results from the change in the atomic nuclei or from nuclear reactions
• Chemical energy results from chemical reactions between atoms and molecules
• There are two types of chemical energy. Electrochemical energy used for batteries and Chemiluminescence used for light.
• Electromagnetic energy, also known as radiant energy, is energy from light or EM waves
• Sonic energy comes from sound waves or earthquakes.
• Sound waves travel through air or another medium.
• Gravitational energy is the reason why we have an atmosphere
• Gravitational energy is the energy of attraction between two masses.
• High potential energy causes heavy objects to be difficult to push
• kinetic energy is the energy of motion of a body, it ranges from zero to a positive value
• Potential energy is the energy of an objects position.
• Ionization energy is a form of energy that binds electrons to the nucleus of its atom, ion or molecule
• transferring of energy creates waste heat which causes global warming
