    Germany was forced to pay the allies a payment of 6.6 billion - it was eventually payed off in 1984

    Economically left them in debt, had to tax the German people even more money which made them even more annoyed

    Clause 231 of the treaty said that Germany must accept all the Blame "for causing the loss and damage of war"
