  • "Spits like a tame cat turned savage" - simile, conveys how powerful nature is over humans
  • "huge nothing that we fear" - ironic oxymoron
  • Structure - iambic pentameter, enjambment and caesura make the poem uneven and chaotic like the storm, tone is arrogant and prideful
