    9 is a stage
  • Label 10
    10 is a condenser
  • 11 is a illuminator or a mirror
  • Number 12 would be a...
    base
  • How do you use a light microscope
    1. Check the microscopes for electrical safety
    2. Click the lowest power objective lense in place
    3. Place a slide on the stage under the objective lens
    4. use the coarse focusing dial to get a focused image
    5. once you have focuses the image, use the fine focusing dial to reveal the detail
    6. repeat 4 and 5 with a higher objective lenses
  • Magnification is the ratio of the size of the image to the size of the object.
  • resolution is how close 2 objects are together and can still be seen as seperate objects before they blur together and look like one object
  • what is the maximum magnification for a light microscope?
    x1500
  • What is the maximum magnification for a electron microscope?
    x500,000
  • What is the resolution for the light and electron microscope?
light is 250nm and electron is 0.25nm
  • what does a LIGHT microscope use?
    light
  • What does a ELECTRON microscope use?
    electrons
  • A light microscope focuses by glass lenses
  • A electron microscope focuses by electromagnets
  • What can we use to look at in a light microscope and what can we look at in a electron microscope?
Living and non-living things but only with non-living things for a electron microscope
  • What is the difference between a light microscope and a electron microscope?
Light microscope is cheap , easy , small and portable but a electron microscope, its expensive , massive , need to be installed in one place and need to be very trained
  • how do you convert cm into mm?
Multiply the number of centimeters by 10.
  • How do you convert mm into micrometres?
    Multiply by 1000.

Multiply the value in micrometers by 1000.
  • how do you convert namometre into micrometres?
    Divide by 1000.
  • how do you convert micrometres to mm ?
Divide the number of micrometers by 1000.
  • how do you convert mm into centimetres?
Divide the number of millimeters by 10.
  • Actual size = image size / magnification
  • magnification size = image size / actual size
  • image size = actual size x magnification
  • To find the actual size of something measured under a microscope you divide its size in the image by the magnification
  • Magnification is a degree by which is enlarged
  • Resolution is the ability of a microscope to distinguish detail
  • what Is this equation triangle for?
To measure microscopy of an actual size/image size or the magnification
