  • Under Corbyn there was an increase in small donations by party members which totalled 18 million. As well as trade unions with Unite donating 4.5 million.
  • Conservative 2017 law and order:
    • Investing to modernise prisons, restructuring the police force and limiting stop and search.
  • Conservative 2017 welfare:
    • Ending triple lock on pensions (pensions rise by inflation, wages/2.5%) and having a double lock (pensions rise by inflation/ wages). Means-testing the winter fuel allowance.
    • Since being in power, the Conservatives have implemented structural change to the welfare system.
    • The 2017 campaign didn't promise any policy reversals from before.
  • Conservative 2017 Economy:
    • Increase higher tax rate to £50,000, increase personal allowance (tax-free earnings) and cut corporation tax.
  • Conservative 2017 Foreign Policy:
    • Exit EU single market and customs union, increasing budget of Ministry of Defence and Keep Trident (nuclear deterrent).
  • Labour 2017 law and order:
    • Invest in border security, increase police numbers and community policing and reverse Conservative cuts in law and order.
  • Labour 2017 Foreign policy:
    • Promoting a global Britain during and after Brexit, investing in diplomatic services foreign policy focusing on human rights and resolution of conflicts, trying to help the refugee crisis and stopping support for wars of intervention.
  • Labour 2017 Welfare:
    • Policies focused on ‘dignity’, ending Conservative policies such as the ‘Bedroom Tax’/cuts to welfare services and reforming benefits assessments.
  • Labour 2017 Economy:
    • Economy based around supporting ‘the many, not the few’, introducing a fairer taxation system, where top earners & corporations pay more taxes and investing in education & infrastructure .
  • Lib Dems 2017 foreign policy:
    • Controlling sales of arms to countries with human rights abuses, promote cooperation internationally, vote on reversing Brexit deal and remaining in the single market.
  • Lib Dems 2017 Economy:
    • Support capital investment, eliminating the “day-to-day” deficit, reforming taxes & increasing tax on corporations and encouraging a living wage.
  • Lib Dems 2017 Law and order:
    • Increase community policing, protect individual rights, stay in the European Court of Human Rights and introduce Digital Bill of Rights.
  • Lib Dems 2017 Welfare:
    • Making the benefits system fairer for young people and the disabled, reversing Conservative policies that cut benefits for some people and reforming benefits assessments.
