  • A source is used to back up any facts. Examples are books and websites.
  • Research looks at finding answers.
  • Primary sources give first-hand information on a topic. Examples are: interviews, surveys, focus groups, questionnaires.
  • Focus groups participate in a planned discussion with about 8-10 people. It is a primary source.
  • Secondary sources are second-hand information that already exists. An example is a website or a book.
  • Quantitative - involves numbers, measured.
  • Qualitative - describes, open-ended questions.
