A build up of lactic acid and creates an oxygen debt
what happens during long periods of vigorous exercise?
muscles fatigue and they stop contracting efficiently
what does blood flowing through the muscles do?
transport the lactic acid to the liver where it is converted back to glucose
what is oxygen debt?
the amount of extra oxygen the body needs after exercise to react with he accumulated lactic acid and remove it from the cells
