    • Dev. by DOROTHY HOSKINS SMITH in early 1940's initially on men with the most severe form of PTSD,
    • used with group of patient in an effort to reach the unwounded area of their personality and get them thinking about reality in relation of themselves(AMERICAN REMOTIVATION THERAPY ORGANIZATION)
    • THERAPY help client by promoting self esteem ,awareness and socialization
    • GOALS: decrease isolation, improve cognitive, social and physical skills
  • STEPS IN REMOTIVATION THERAPY
    1. CLIMATE OF ACCEPTANCE: greet with handshake and say something positive to pt.
    2. BRIDGE TO THE REALITY: use poem/story/song to be shared to the group ,these must be simple and easy to follow.
    3. SHARING THE WORLD WE LIVE IN : this is where the therapist ask questions based on the poem/story/song.
    4. APPRECIATION OF THE WORKS OF THE WORLD : This involve life related questions based from the story/poem/song .
    5. CLIMATE OF APPRECIATION : Thanks each client for participation and offer reward.
  • BIBLIOTHERAPY
    • uses literature to support good mental health , versatile and cost effective treatment option often adapted or used to supplement other type of therapy
  • PRESCRIPTIVE BIBLIOTHERAPY
    • also referred as SELF HELP ,
    • involve the use of specific reading materials and workbook to address a variety of mental health concern.
