  • sulcus - (sulci) sinking spaces between the cerebral hemispheres, separating the cerebral cortex from the cerebellum
  • gyrus - (gyri) fold in the cerebral cortex that is responsible for specific functions
  • central sulcus - middle of the brain
  • longitudinal fissure - left and right of the brain
  • frontal lobe - primary motor cortex (movements)
  • PARIETIAL LOBE - responsible for processing sensory information from the body surface, SENSATION
  • ocipital lobe - visual cortex, visual memory, visual perception, visual recognition, eye sight
  • finger agnosia - difficulty identifying fingers, can't tell which finger is which
  • agraphia - difficulty writing or forming words on paper, may be due to damage to the brain
  • prosopagnosia - inability to recognize faces, can be caused by damage to the frontal lobe
  • temporal lobe - hearing, memory, language, and auditory comprehension
