      A mental state where one feels no personal responsibility for their behaviour because their believe fthemseoves to be acting for an authority figure . This frees them from the demands of their consciences and allows them To obey even a destructive authority figure .
    • Ligitimacy of authority ?
      An explanation fo obedience which suffers that we are not likely to obey people who we pericebcr to have authority over us . This authority is justified by the indivicuals position of power within social hierarchy
    • Autonomous state?

      the opposite of the agentic states . To behave according to one sown orinciples and seeks a sense of responsibility for their own actions .

      When a person moves from the autonomous state to the Agentic state
    • On strength of Agentic state is that migrants studies support it 

      Most of migrants participants resisted in giving the shocks at some point and often asked the (E) questions About the procedure. One was ‘ who is responsible if Mr Wallace is harmed ?’ The (E) replied ‘ I’m responsible ‘ the PTs often went through the procedure quickly with no further objections . Showing once PTs per ovens they were no longer responsible for their own behaviour , they acted more easily as the (E) agent .
