  • ghettos: segregated Jewish areas in Polish cities sealed off with Barb, wires and stone walls
  • concentration camp: a labor camp where various groups of people were imprisoned.
    all members were forced to wear a patch that categorized to them. Many died in the camps.
  • The final stage: Hitler wanted to create a system that would kill Jews quicker, so he created death camps
  • there were six death camps in Poland. They’d use Zyklon B. (a poison, gas) and put thousands into gas chambers on average 6 million Jews died in the camps and were cremated in ovens after they were killed
  • on average 12,000 members of the death camps died a day
  • Auschwitz: the largest death camp in currently a museum
  • Eli Wiesel: holocaust survivor, who wrote a book about his experience in the holocaust called night. he was awarded the Nobel peace prize.
