  • method:
    1. pour water to depth of 5mm into tank
    2. adjust speed of motor to produce low frequency water waves
    3. use lamp to see pattern of waves on white card
    4. film waves with slow motion camera
    5. count number of waves passing point in given time
    6. divide number of waves countes by time recorded to give frequency
    7. use metre ruler to measure length of tank
    8. divide length of tank by number of waves to give wavelength
    9. find wavespeed using v = frequency x wavelength
