  • perimetere is the distance round the edge
  • area is the space inside the shape
  • percentage means “fraction out of 100”
    50%=0.5=1/2 divide by 2
    25%=0.25=1/4 half then half again
    10% = 0.1 = 1/10 divide by 10
    1%=0.01=1/100 divide by 100
  • Angle rules
    opposite angles are equal
angles at a point add up to 360*
angles in quadrilateral add up to 360*
angles on a straight line =180*
angles in a triangle add up to 180*
acute angles are less than 90
    obtuse are =90*- 180*
    right angle = 90*
    reflex angle = 180* -360 *
  • angles rules
alternate angles in parallel lines ( Z angles) are equal
corresponding angles in parallel lines ( F angles ) are equal
interior angles in parallel lines ( c angles) add up to 180*
  • averages
mode/modal- most common value or values
medium- the middle value when in order
mean - add up all the values and divide by the number of terms
range- highest value take away the lowest value
  • types of numbers
    odd - ends in 1,3,5,7,9
    even-ends in 0,2,4,6,8 ( is divisible by 2)
    factor - divide’s exactly into a number e.g 5 is a factor of 10
multiple - in the timetables of a number e.g 20 is a multiple of 10
square number - can be written as a number mutiplied by itself e.g 9 is a square number because it can be written as 3✖️3
    first 7 are 1,4,9,16,25,36,48
prime numbers can only be divided by one and itself 2,3,5,7,11,13,17 are prime

  • What are the operations involving numbers mentioned in the study material?
    • Sum: add the numbers together
    • Product: multiply the numbers
    • Difference: subtract the smallest from the largest
  • What is the first operation mentioned for numbers?
Sum - add the numbers together
  • What is the second operation mentioned for numbers?
    Product - multiply the numbers
  • What is the third operation mentioned for numbers?
Difference - subtract the smallest from the largest
  • What does the term "biggest takes away the smallest" refer to?
It refers to finding the difference between numbers
  • What should you do with the numbers to give an approximate answer?
    Round the numbers first
  • What is the first step in solving for the letter correlation?
Work out the value of the letter
  • What does the letter correlation refer to?
    The relationship between two variables
  • What types of relationships can exist between two variables?
    Positive, negative, or no correlation
  • What is the purpose of drawing a line of best fit?
To visualize the correlation between variables
  • What does a positive correlation indicate?
As one variable increases, the other also increases
  • What does a negative correlation indicate?
As one variable increases, the other decreases
  • What does no correlation mean?
There is no relationship between the two variables
  • How do you expand the expression 2(x+3)2(x + 3)?

    • Multiply: 2(x+3)=2(x + 3) =2x+ 2x +6 6
