Conservation of Mass

•  the law of conservation of mass states:

  • No atoms are lost or made during a chemical reaction
•  a chemical change is:

  • A rearrangement of the atoms in the reactants, to form the products
• it is much more difficult to measure the mass of a gas because gas can easily escape into the air
