  • Territory was taken from Russia to create Poland. Russia wanted this land back and so signed the Nazi-Soviet Pact
  • Too harsh on Germany, causing Hitler promising to 'right the wrongs'
  • Britain felt Hitler should be allowed to overturn the Treaty, so didn't intervene to prevent events such as Anschluss at first
  • Created new states such as Czechoslovakia and Poland, where many Germans were living. Hitler was determined to reunite these people in a Greater Germany
