liberal strand = presents the patriarchal system as illogical, denying women the fundamental right to equality with men
biblical strand = looks at the idea of God as loving + caring - qualities associated with women. it also points to the importance of women within the life/teachings of Jesus
radical strand = has moved beyond Christianity; seeks to find ways to speak of God which will be gender inclusive
