  • Quantitative research is the process of collecting and analyzing numerical data.
  • There are four main types of Quantitative research: Descriptive, Correlational, Causal-Comparative/Quasi-Experimental, and Experimental Research. 
  • Surveys: A common approach to collecting data is using a survey. 
  • Quantitative observation is an objective collection of data which is primarily focused on numbers and values – it suggests “associated to, of or depicted in terms of a quantity”.
  • Temperature, weight, volume, distance, etc., are all variables that can be measured using quantitative data analysis. 
  • Height in feet, age in years, and weight in pounds are examples of quantitative data.
