The
hypotenuse
is the
longest side
and it is adjacent to the
right angle.
If we know two sides of a right triangle, we can find the third using the
Pythagorean theorem
(c^2 =
a^2
+
b^2
).
In any right triangle, the
sum of the squares of the legs equals the square of the hypotenuse.
A right triangle can be identified by its
angles
- it has
one
right angle (
90
degrees) and
two
acute angles.
The
legs of the triangle
are the two sides that form the right angle.
