• what was the aim of the bio practical investigation?

  To investigate if there is a gender difference between physical aggression and whether it correlates with finger length
• bio psych practical investigation- hypothesis

  There will be a negative correlation between 2D:4D ratio and aggression
• procedure:

  16 people were used.

  Participants measured their 2D:4D ratio and would find testosterone level by finding out how long the ring finger is in relation to your index finger. Participants completed the buss perry aggression questionnaire which measures physical and verbal aggression also anger and hostility which was put into a table with measures of central tendency
• what were the practical findings?

  • There was a higher ratio mean for males that have a larger ring finger to index finger ratio
  • The mean aggression score for females was significantly higher which could be due to more females completing the test
• strength of bio practical investigation:

  participants were aware of their right to withdraw and gave informed consent and debrief
• weaknesses of bio practical investigation:

  The questionnaire filled out was a method of self report which can lack validity because we cant be sure that participants are honest with answering questions- elements of demand characteristics

  To improve could gather a larger sample of participants with more males
• improvement that could be made to bio practical?

  Gathered a more representative sample of individuals, not just psychology students so that findings represent various individuals with a range of aggression levels
