History of 3D Printing

• In 1984-1986, Charles Hull invented 3D Printing and called the term "stereolithography"
• In 1992, The first 3D Printer was built by 3D systems
• The first application of 3D Printing in the medical field was in 1999, creating the human bladder
• In 2000, a miniature human kidney was created through 3D Printing
• in 2006, the Selective Laser Sintering Machine was created, printing multiple materials and fields.
• In 2009, the first usable prosthetic leg was created. This opens the door for customized products using 3D Printing.
• In 2011, 3D Printing started offering 14k gold as a printable material
