Plantar heel pain

• Plantar heel pain - Subjective:

  • Pain on weight bearing - worse with flat shoes or barefoot
  • Pain local to insertion of plantar fascia at heel
  • Unable to run
• Plantar heel pain - Objective:

  • Thickened on ultrasound image
  • Plantar fascia degeneration
  • Often need to exclude other diagnoses
  • paraesthesia, muscle wasting
