    • Overweight - high BMI, more common in females
    • Low profile/unsupportive shoes
    • Diabetes and hypertension
    • Overload episode or chronic development
  • Tibialis posterior (posterior tibial tendon dysfunction) - Subjective:
    • Medial foot and ankle pain
    • Weight bearing/high impact activity/stairs - trailing leg
  • Tibialis posterior (posterior tibial tendon dysfunction) - Objective:
    • Local pain around medial malleolus
    • Flat foot deformity
    • Swelling
    • “Too-many-toes” sign (forefoot abduction)
    • Inability to heel rise - weak, inhibition
    • Imaging shows tendon degeneration and sheath inflammatory changes
