  • Local but diffuse
  • Pain on walking/hills/stairs
  • Difficulty sleeping on side
  • Difficulty sitting cross legged
• Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome - Objective:

  • Pain on palpation locally on greater trochanter
  • Single leg stance, 30 secs - control, pain
  • FABER
  • FADER (+ internal rotation resistance)
  • Resisted abduction – in adduction
• Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome - Differential:

  • Fractures
  • Metastatic disease
  • Hip pathology
  • Lumbar spine
