• Landmarks for L-Spine:

  • Xiphoid tip: T9 to T10
  • Lower coastal margin: L2 to L3
  • Illiac crest: L4 to L5
  • ASIS: S1 to S2
  • Symphysis pubis
• There are 5 lumbar vertebrae
• Unique Lumbar Vertebrae features:

  • Transverse processes are smaller than T-spine
  • PARS interarticularis
  • Spinous process are bulky and blunt
• The Pars interarticularis is part of the L-spines lamina
• L-Spine Angles:

  • Z-Joints: 45 degree angle from MSP
  • Intervertebral Foramina: 90 degree angle from MSP
• L-Spine Obliques: (which z-joints are seen?)

  • LPO: left joints
  • RPO: right joints
  • LAO: Right joints
  • RAO: Left Joints
• The scottie dog is seen on L-spine obliques
• PA vs AP on L-spine: PA is less curvature and less dose to ovaries BUT greater OID
