contact and non-contact forces

• forces either push or pull on an object. this is a result of its interactions with another object.
• contact forces - forces of attraction between two objects that are in contact with each other (friction, air resistance, tension and normal contact force).
• non-contact force - force that does not involve physical contact between two objects (gravitational, electrostatic and magnetic forces).
• force (N) = mass (kg) x acceleration (m/s2)
• forces are a vector quantity and are represented by an arrow.
