    Changes in living standard:
    after 1924, living conditions (financial quality of life for people in a country) improved. unemployment stood at 4% in 1924, but began to fall to just 1.3 million by 1928. standards of employment and pay also improved, with average working hours decreasing and wages increasing by 25%. the government announced that rent would have a 15% tax to fund the creation of houses, which made significant progress but there was still house shortages by 1928. the number of students in higher education also increased from 70000 to 100000.

    Changes in women’s position:
    compared to many countries at the time, women's rights in the weimar republic were quite advanced; women could vote and stand for elections - by 1932, 112 women had been elected to the reichstag. there was also a lot of american influence for the 'new women' - short hair, masculine clothing, often going out. despite being able to enter any marriage or employment as equal to men (under the constitution), women were often paid 33% less, didn't occupy top positions, and were expected to give up work after marriage.

    Changes in culture:
    restrictions that the kaiser had previously imposed on arts & culture were removed, allowing for a cultural revolution in weimar germany. ideas, like modernism & expressionism, came forward; an example of this was the bauhaus movement, which helped design modern buildings. the weimar government funded much of the creation of new art, including orchestras & libraries. german films also grew popular, with many cinemas showing films with sound by the 1930s. germany also released the world's first horror film in 1926.
